Meaford is the far end of where we work, and the jobs here divide between shoreline residential and the agricultural buildings inland from it.
Shoreline slabs
Property close to the Georgian Bay shoreline has the same underlying issue as Wasaga, arriving by a different route: a water table that sits close to the underside of the slab. The soils are different — this end of the bay is not the sand Wasaga sits on — but the consequence for a coating is identical, which is that vapour pressure under a sealed film lifts it. Same test, same primer decision, same reason we run it before quoting.
Older shoreline cottages carry the additional wrinkle that many were built well before anyone was putting a barrier under a slab, and a good number have been converted to year-round use since. Those are the highest-risk floors in this town.
Apple country
Meaford is the western half of the orchard belt that runs along the escarpment through Clarksburg and Thornbury, and the floors that come with it are packing areas, cold storage approaches and equipment sheds. Those see forklift traffic, seasonal wash-down and fruit acids, which is a specific combination: point loading wants film thickness, wash-down wants anti-slip and coving, and organic acids rule out some products outright.
Cold storage in particular is worth flagging at the quote. A floor that runs near freezing year-round is not a normal residential-adjacent job and it needs a system chosen for it.
Travel
Meaford is at the edge of our range, so quote visits run a little longer to arrange and we combine them where we can. We are honest about that rather than pretending the drive does not exist — if you need somebody on site tomorrow, we are probably not the right call here.
