It runs against our own default, so it is worth putting first. Thornbury and Clarksburg have an unusual density of heated detached shops, and a heated shop is the one building where standard epoxy is the better recommendation.
Why the heated shop changes the answer
Woodworking, boat and equipment storage for the harbour, and the sheds that come with orchard and hobby-farm property between here and Meaford. A stable slab temperature, no direct sun on the floor, and not one of the reasons we normally steer people toward polyaspartic applies. Epoxy costs less and builds a thicker film in one pass. If you have a heated shop here, ask us to price both — we would rather you saw the two numbers.
Older housing, and slabs poured out of sequence
The housing stock predates most of what is around Collingwood, and the garages reflect it: detached, older, frequently with a slab poured long after the building went up. Or, more awkwardly, the reverse — a building put up around a slab that was already there.
Orchard and equipment floors
The apple country running west toward Meaford brings its own kind of job: equipment barns and packing areas taking tractor and forklift traffic, seasonal wash-down, and organic acids off the fruit. That combination rules some resins out outright and drives the top coat choice. Worth telling us at the quote rather than after the floor is down.
One practical note about the approach
The older lots through the village have narrow drives and awkward approaches, and a grinder with dust extraction has to physically reach the slab. It is rarely a problem. It is worth a photograph of the approach with your enquiry, so we bring the right size of machine rather than discovering it on the day.
